Surprise, surprise ladies and gentlemen. While Christina Aguilera and Tony Lucca were busy beating each other with their Mickey Mouse Club hats, and Cee Lo Green was napping beneath his shades. Jermaine Paul was busy winning a big victory for Team Blake as he became the newest singer to be crowned The Voice.
The Voice Season 2 had a lot of drama this year when former Mouseketeer Tony Lucca auditioned for the show, and received a rather weak welcome from fellow former Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera. Some how I just knew that would be the focus of this season when I first saw it happen. The apparent snub didn't sit to well with Tony Lucca, and to add injury to insult, Christina Aguilera seemed determined to give him the harshest criticisms any contestant on The Voice has ever received. Finally, enough was enough and Tony Lucca fired back with his rendition 99 Problems which was a brilliant performance, but was obviously aimed at insulting Christina. This petty back biting finally came to a head when Christina offered her critiques of the performance saying it was a little derogatory towards women, while also mentioning Tony's wife and daughter in the same breath.
Meanwhile, another artist who had a celebrity connection was flying under the radar. Jermaine Paul, a former back-up singer for Alicia Keys was probably entertained by the proverbial tennis match Christina, and Tony were having, but when asked what were his thoughts on the situation, he just said it is what it is and he had no thoughts on it, because he wasn't a part of the scenario. Blake Shelton trained his young talent well in the ways of diplomacy, and apparently the mentoring made all the difference, because Jermaine Paul was probably the most unexpected person to win The Voice this season.
The Voice Season 2 served as a learning lesson for Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine. Had they focused more on coaching their singers, rather than engaging in a tit for tat the winner would have probably been Chris Mann or Tony Lucca. America was obviously tired of all the drama between Team Blake and Team Xtina, so they went in a different direction with their votes, and Team Blake snatched up the win. Congratulations Jermaine Paul, and don't forget to thank all the little people for the big win.
