The Voice Season 2: Day 3 Of The Blind Auditions

Day 3 of The Voice blind auditions aired today, and the judges continued their strategies of picking unique vocal talents.  It was a big day for Team Adam who snagged four of the contestants that auditioned today, Team Cee Lo and Team Blake weren't far behind as they each won three contestants, and in last place was Team Christina who only managed to win two of the singers she really wanted.  There were a few contestants that couldn't win a slot on one of the teams, and there were some contestants the judges fought like crazy to get.
style="mso-spacerun:yes">  Overall the competition is shaping up to be one of the more interesting singing competitions on TV, so with that being said let's recap some of the show highlights.

Team Cee Lo struck first blood today when he won over Sarah Golden a self-proclaimed folk singer who gave an impressive rendition of Lady Gaga's "You and I".  Blake was interested in acquiring Sarah as well, but Cee Lo seemed to be on fire today.  Maybe it was his "Newly Won Grammy Sparkle", but every time Cee Lo really wanted someone he made sure he got them.  The show kept cutting to Cee Lo holding his big Persian Kitty reminding me a little of Dr. Evil in Austin Powers.  Cee Lo also managed to acquire Erin Martin (a former model turned singer who sang a little like Macy Gray) and James Masoney (a survivor of a rap party that turned massacre when bullets started flying.).

Team Adam was next to score a big talent in a guy simply known as Pip.  Pip was a cool looking 19 year old sporting a bow tie and suspenders.  His brilliant audition managed to gain the attention of all four judges, but Adam the coach of last year's winner had just the right amount of credibility for Pip to choose him.  Team Adam also managed to win over Katrina Parker (an administrative assistant who lost her voice for two years due to exposure of hidden mold), Chris Cauley a country R&B singer who was inspired to sing by his Grandma), and Nathan Parrett (who showed a powerful voice in his audition).

Team Blake was the third judge to score one for his team when he lucked out with Erin Willett a strong female singer who had the sad story of her father having stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.  Fortunately for Erin

her father was there to root her on.  Blake also managed to acquire Brian Fuente (a Latin singer with some soulful flavor), and Jordis Unga who was the last contestant of the day and the one person the judges fought the hardest to get.  Eventually Blake beat out Christina and Cee Lo to get this powerhouse who most likely will go far in this competition.

Team Christina got off to a late start, mostly because Christina Aguilera seemed really picky in choosing the members of her team.  Whether or not it was a sound strategy, Christina Aguilera managed to pick up Geoff McBride (a father of 3 who was sporting shades due to a kick boxing injury he suffered when he was younger), and Moses Stone (the first rapper who auditioned for The Voice).

Day 3 was one heck of a battle for the judges, and the competition will getting even harder as the number of available slots has shrunken down by a bunch.  The next round of singers will most certainly be the cream of the crop otherwise the judges may once again have to hold another round of blind auditions giving a second chance to contestants who weren't picked the first time around.  Stay tuned for The Voice is almost done with blind auditions, and will soon enter the battle rounds where the 4 teams will compete against their own team members to stay in the competition.
